A40_Kyojima Atlas
Ieva Blazeviciute@Publicis Wall Gallery (offsite), posters around Kyojima, travelling book (TBC)
Kyojima Atlas is an on-going project about the artist and maker community in Kyojima.
The project attempts to visually map out the area by photographing its people and the connections between them. Each person is introduced based on the artist’s personal experiences of meeting them, mimicking the way that any newcomer to Kyojima may be exposed to when visiting the area for the first time. The resulting visual work is a web of close-up portraits, stories and layers of an already existing close-knit community as told by a stranger, who is slowly becoming a friend.
