"Shy" is an illustration exhibition, exploring awkward daily situations, unusual encounters and fantastical, yet a little sarcastic creatures. "Shy" zooms into what shy means in a variety of different situations and how to have fun even when you don't feel like. We all have gloomy days, but with a little humour we can find silver lining in every situation.

Ieva Blazeviciute is a Lithuanian artist based in Tokyo.
Born in 1991 in Lithuania, Ieva graduated from graphic design at the London College of Communication.
Her work mixes traditional ink drawing with digital art.
Inspired by traditional Japanese art, literature and vintage graphic design, Ieva creates fantastical, yet relatable situations in her work. Using the name “gloomy business” Ieva juxtaposes bright colours with gloomy expressions of the characters, offering a funny and ironic angle to the everyday.
